The University’s Administrative Headquarters are in Rajgir, Bihar. The University maintains an outreach office in Delhi for easier access to all students, scholars and for the ease of all academic collaboration and outreach. The Communications and Admissions divisions of the University also have a presence in the Delhi office.
The Vice Chancellor is the principal academic and executive officer of the University and exercises supervision and control over the affairs of the University. The Vice Chancellor is responsible for all the administrative, academic, financial and other functions of the University.
The Vice Chancellor’s office organises the Vice Chancellor’s academic and administrative schedule and meetings.
The Registrar conducts all official correspondence of the University and is also the custodian of records and other property of the University. The Registrar oversees the administration of the University and reports to the Vice Chancellor.
The Finance Officer exercises general supervision over the the funds of the University and advises the University on its financial policy. The Finance Officer reports to the Vice Chancellor.
The University Librarian is responsible for the overall administration, human resource management and budget for the University Library.
The Administration office supports the Registrar's office. The Assistant Registrars and their team are responsible for managing the infrastructure and facilities within the Campus. All matters relating to office administration, maintenance, IT and Services and Procurement is managed by this office currently.
In accordance with the Office Memorandum No. 1/12/2010-IR dated 19-05-2011 issued by the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension, (Government of India) and in order to ensure effective, transparent and speedy disposal of RTI matters, an RTI Cell has been set up at the University's interim campus.

The Academic office coordinates the administration of all academic programmes offered at Nalanda University and assists the Vice Chancellor in overseeing the academic function of the University.
Admissions Office and Student Affairs
The Admissions office is responsible for managing all admission related activities of the University. This office is currently also responsible for Student Affairs
The Engineering division is divided into two broad heads-Civil and Electrical. These divisions are together responsible for all construction related activities and facilities management of existing infrastructure and properties of the University.
The Communications office, headed by Director (Communications) is responsible for all official publications and other official communications. It is also responsible for building the brand of the University and manages marketing and media relations.
The University's administrative offices are located at the interim campus in Rajgir. It also has an outreach office in Delhi.
V C is the head of the University and is responsible for all the administrative, and academic functions of the University.
