The tallest flagpole probably in all of Bihar was erected and the tricolor hoisted at the Interim Campus of Nalanda University under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunaina Singh to mark the 69 th Republic Day celebrations this year. The 100 feet tall flagpole looked regal with the flag fluttering to the wind while the student sang the national anthem in unison and pride. It was a truly inspiring sight for the curious onlookers from across the road who stopped by to take in the sight. It seemed that all of Nalanda was stood proud on the day.
While the students read out inspiring poetry written by them for the occasion the Registrar of the University, Mr. Sanjay Bhatnagar encouraged the students to take inspiration from the National flag and strive to keep it flying high on this great land.
The evening programme featured a Mushaira, Bharatnatyam, poetry recitation and a skit from the students, while the professors pitched in with some recitations too. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunaina Singh addressed the gathering in her inimitable style with a suitable Urdu couplet to exhort the students to face the future in honesty to oneself first.
